SXSW Street Style 2013

With the convergence of art and ideas that is SXSW comes a translation to our everyday lives, the exceptional style of Austin’s streets, which are flooded with influences from around the world. Although a broad spectrum of trends persisted, from edgy details to boho inspiration, a few consistent elements prevailed, high waisted shorts being the most ubiquitous. Not limited to any particular era or style, a pair of high waisted shorts can compliment any outfit, be dressed up or down, and suit many looks. Another increasingly prominent look was the effortlessly chic look of a shirt or jacket tied around the waist. Sported in some cases as more of a statement and less functional, this trend displayed diversity in it’s establishment on the streets. Street style, as a universal language of expression, captures the essence of Austin’s SXSW and the ideas that it sparks. This is what the streets have to say.

The lights dim and heads turn towards the spotlight that is illuminating the runway, Austin’s most fashionable crowd goes silent to await a show they know will be nothing less than extraordinary.
Austin’s own Stephen Moser is back, and more glamourous than ever. His return to the runway earlier this year was followed, this Sunday evening, by his latest stunning collection in an extravagant celebration that reunited Austin’s fashion icons.

Rare Trends Event

From the relaxed cool vibe of the Belmont to the brilliant designs carried by Rare Trends, this event was truly splendid. Rare Trends combines edgy and elegant styles in unique, bold clothing and accessories centered around the idea of wearable art for the modern woman. This was the first chance for the public to purchase the styles seen on the Rare Trend’s runway at Austin Fashion Week and Tribeza Style Week.
